I’ve been visiting Block Island since I was a baby, as my grandfather built cottages there in the 1920s. My mother and father met there for the first time, as my mother’s best friend was Alice Mott, of the Motts that owned most of the island at one time. My brother bought his own piece of land there years ago (since my creepy uncle got the lots that my grandfather left to me and my siblings… don’t ask) and built a beautiful house and is raising his family there. Jimmy and I were there 2 years ago- love the Block! I have so many great memories- being treated to lobster dinners by my grandparents at The Yellow Kittens, driving around in my grandfather’s pink Cadillac that he kept on the island, hanging with my cousins at the beach, playing games in the cottage while it poured outside. Block Island is the home of the best lobster rolls ever. Hope you enjoyed being there.
We absolutely enjoyed being there. If we’re ever in the neighborhood again we’re certainly going to drop by.
